12 DAYS PROPHETIC PRAYER AND FASTING, 2018
Theme: “But By My Spirit”
Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6 NKJV).
The Holy Spirit is an important member of the Godhead. He was with the Father and the Son from the beginning. There is nothing the Father will do with anyone, or in any place, at any time, without the active involvement and commitment of the Holy Spirit. Everyone that has ever accomplished anything remarkable in the Bible, is always found under the influence of the Spirit of God. Men and women are empowered by the Spirit of the Lord, to run errands for the Lord. If the Lord has chosen to do anything in your life, and through your life, it cannot be done, except in partnership with the Holy Spirit.
This is evident in Zerubbabel’s story. Zerubbabel was filled with anxiety and fear, considering the assignment he was commissioned to accomplish. The assignment stood before him, like a mountain, intimidating his human ability and skill, but the Lord sent a word to him, to encourage him, and to give him the secret to accomplishing anything for the Lord. The Lord said to Him through prophet Zacharias saying, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” (Zacharias 4:6 NKJV).
Jesus’ final instruction to His disciples, underscores this truth. Our Lord Jesus instructed them, not to depart from Jerusalem until they have been endued with power from, on high through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-5). Whatever Jesus assigned them to do, can only be done, in partnership with the Holy Spirit.
The leading instruction for this year prophetic prayer and fasting, is found in the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.” So, during this year 12 days prophetic prayer and fasting, we are bringing ourselves into partnership with the Holy Spirit for 2019, by submitting and committing ourselves, our families, friends, ministries, churches, cities, and countries to the ministry of the Holy Spirit through prayer, fasting, and the promises of God.
